On June 17, we observe the Day of Combating Desertification and Drought. These phenomena result from climate change, which has been Threatening our planets for many years. The World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought was established by the United Nations General Assembly (UN) on January 30, 1995. The convention on this matter was adopted in Paris on June 17, 1994, and signed on October 14 of the same year on behalf of the European Community. Poland ratified the Convention on November 17, 2001. The Assembly then called on countries to increase awareness of the needed for international cooperation in the fight against desertification and throught and to implement the forecasts of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification in countries affected by these problems, which are becoming creatively numerical.
