I've had the pleasure of inviting you recently. Dr Joanna Cherepko, conduct classes for University of Gdansk in the themes « Communication of the ESG in an organisation » , « Engagement of the Management Board in the ESG" and « Engagement of staff and other stakeholders in the ESG" for a group of more than 50 students and students of post-graduate studies Manager of the ESG .
In the first part of the class, we discussed the role of the board in promoting the ESG in the organisation, presenting the importance of involving management staff and integrating the ESG issue with the company's strategic objectives. I have presented the best practices the board can adopt to effectively support and implement the ESG principles. We also conducted practical exercises, where some participants took on the role of the Management Board and others were experts in the field of ESG and were to convince the Management Board that (and how) the ESG should be implemented in companies already. I was really delighted with the group's commitment and energy!
In the second part of the class, we focused on the involvement of workers and other stakeholders in the ESG issues. Together with the students, we discussed the role of communication in building awareness and engagement and how to motivate active participation in ESG initiatives. The introduction to this discussion was the analysis of stakeholders and dialogue with stakeholders. Examples of good practices from different companies have allowed participants to better understand how to carry out such analyses.
The classes ended with a fruitful discussion, during which participants had the opportunity to ask questions and share their reflections on the topics discussed.
