September and October 2026 is an important period for companies to prepare for the application of the EUDR Regulation. EU rules on deforestation products have been clarified and entrepreneurs are gaining further information necessary to implement the new obligations. It is a good time to verify your procedures and prepare for the coming changes.
What changes in EUDR are most important?
One of the important events of the last weeks is the publication in the Official Journal of the EU of Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2026/2102, which updates the list of products covered by EUDR. The Act was published on 17 September 2026 and entered into force. Changes include both exclusion of selected products from the scope of regulationand the inclusion of new categories. The added products included, among others, soluble coffee and some palm oil derivatives. New products will be subject to EUDR obligations from 30 December 2027.
October in preparation for implementation
For the majority of large and medium-sized enterprises, the time limit for the application of the main obligations falls by 30 December 2026. For parts of micro and small enterprises, the deadline is 30 June 2027, with the exception of entities subject to earlier timber legislation. It is therefore worth to determine now what requirements apply to a particular company and its place in the supply chain.
