🌿🦋🌎 Day of Biodiversity 🌿🦋🌎

On May 22, we celebrate the International Day of Biological Diversity, established by the United Nations in 2000 to raise awareness of green societies.

The theme in 2023 was "From agreement to action: restoration of biodiversity", referring to the results of the 15th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 15), which adopted a landmark agreement on Biological Diversity (GBF) Kunming-Montreal.

GBF aims to counter biodiversity loss, restore ecosystems and protect the rights of the local community.

The plan contains concrete measures to halt and reverse the loss of nature, including the protection of 30% of the planet and 30% of degraded ecosystems by 2030.

Biodiversity is crucial for the functioning of ecosystems and for the well-being of humanity.

Unfortunately, it is threatened by factors such as air pollution that negatively affect land and water ecosystems, degrading the environment and reducing biodiversity.

That is why it is so important to change human attitudes and relations with the environment, as well as to promote knowledge and research on the state of biodiversity resources.

Remember that biodiversity protection is a challenge that requires all of us to be involved.

Let us join the celebration of the International Day of Biological Diversity and take care of our planet together 🌿🌍💚
